The ADE for Alzheimer’s team took over William Street School in Lancaster with a series of events centering around Alzheimer’s awareness, involvement and FUN!
On May 17th, students and faculty attended an assembly about Alzheimer’s and dementia led by the Alzheimer’s Association Western New York Chapter.
During lunch time Wednesday, May 24th – Friday, May 26th students had the opportunity to take a “Lemon Face Picture” in a photo booth for a donation of $2.00 to honor or show support for someone affected by Alzheimer’s Disease. The class that raised the most money for each grade won a pizza party!
On Friday, June 2nd, students and staff were asked to wear PURPLE to show support. Thank you to the Williams Street faculty, PTO and volunteers for their assistance with these events!
We are thrilled that the event raised over $1800 for our Walk to End Alzheimer’s team. The kids had a blast and we were overwhelmed with the love and support we received.
We are hoping to take this concept to other school districts next year!
